After two riveting finishes in matches against Brazil and France, the US Women's National Team has risen to both challenges and made it to the final match in the Women's World Cup against Japan. The USWNT has shown that they don't have to play the most beautiful game, nor do they have to dominate possession, but they will push to the very last minute and score the goals needed.
Alex Morgan was the star of the last game, in my opinion. The US was up 2-1 toward the end of the game, but France was still threatening to equalize and take it to overtime - again. But Alex was pushing toward the goal, as always, with her explosive energy and found a way to get that third goal that put the game away. As the youngest player on the team, I can tell Alex is going to be a star. It's great to see that not only does the USWNT have great veteran players, but they have strength in their youth too. It's going to be important, since  women's soccer is continuing to expand and grow. Great for the sport, but I want the US to keep up and keep performing like they do now.
